At ICM, we celebrate Pride this month and every month, because our commitment to LGBTQIA+ communities is not seasonal. It is part of who we are.

This year, as we come together to honour love, identity and the power of community, we also recognise the concern and uncertainty caused by the recent UK Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of sex under the Equality Act. For many, especially our trans, non-binary and intersex colleagues, volunteers, beneficiaries and wider community, this decision has brought fear and frustration.

We want to be absolutely clear. You are welcome here. You are seen, valued and safe at ICM.

Our commitment to your dignity, autonomy and freedom from discrimination has not changed, and it has the full backing of our Board.

We believe that Pride is more than a flag, a parade or a single month in the year. It is a daily act of solidarity and celebration.

At ICM, Pride means showing up for one another. It means creating space for people of all identities to thrive. It means listening, learning and standing together.

Suffolk Pride has chosen "Love" as its theme for 2025. This theme emphasises the importance of love in all its forms, among chosen families, friends, allies and romantic partners. It reminds us that everyone deserves love, especially when we are faced with negative messaging or attempts to undermine our rights. This message of love and affirmation is one we fully embrace and carry with us every day.

We will continue to uphold our values of inclusion, empathy and care, today and always.

To our LGBTQIA+ community, we are proud of you, we stand with you and we celebrate you. Every day.

With love and solidarity,

Ipswich Community Media
