If you’ve spotted a man pounding the Ipswich pavements lately, headphones glued in, Eye
of the Tiger blaring on repeat, don’t worry – it’s not a scene from Rocky. It’s ICM teammate Henry, gearing up to take on the Ipswich Half Marathon on Sunday 21st September, and he’s not just running for glory. He’s running to raise vital funds for Ipswich Community Media.
Henry’s been putting in the miles, rain or shine, and he’s ready to go the distance. But behind the sweat, determination, and carefully chosen running playlist is a cause close to his heart.
ICM has been working for over a decade to support communities in Ipswich through education, creativity, youth projects, and cultural celebration. From music sessions with young people to English classes for displaced communities, ICM helps people find their voice, their confidence, and their community.
Henry says:
“Every step I take on the half marathon route is a reminder of the difference ICM makes. I might be the one running, but it’s the young people and families who benefit from ICM’s work that truly inspire me. I’m so grateful for every donation – it keeps me moving when the legs get heavy!”
